What are the symptoms of an STI?
STIs can have a number of symptoms or no symptoms at all.
Symptoms of STIs can include:
- discharge from the penis, vagina or anus
- pain, burning, or discomfort when urinating (peeing)
- pain during sex
- abnormal or unusual vaginal bleeding, especially after sex
- genital sores, lumps or bumps on your genitals that may not even be painful
- genital itching
- pelvic or testicular pain
- rash on the genitals
You can have an STI and have no symptoms, so it’s important to talk with your health care provider about STIs to find out if you need to be tested.
