Can current and past stress affect my health?

Stress can have physical and emotional effects on your health and well being.

High levels of stress or stress that lasts a long time can have negative health effects. High levels of stress or constant stress is called toxic stress. If your level of stress is very high and constant, your body is making stress hormones almost all the time. This can lead to problems with your mental and physical health.
